The Power of Enthusiasm

Are you surrounded at work by people who look bored, uninspired and like they could opt out at any given opportunity? Well, you may have something to do with it; have you seen your face lately? You have been quite cranky and unapproachable and it’s beginning to rub off on those around you; our inner sentiments spoken or unspoken create an environment around us; people suck up to your vibe negative or positive. You get it?

If you have any challenge before you right now it is not how to communicate your lofty dream to your workers, or how to get them to pursue your goals as their own and be happy about it, it is how to stay enthusiastic yourself as you lead them. Without enthusiasm even the greatest idea will plummet mid-air for its lack of ability to inspire and invigorate.’ People are only coming with you because of how you make them feel!’

Before you worry about your team losing fervor on the job, worry about how to keep a smile on your own face every day you come to work and every time you talk about your common goals. You can change their attitude by developing enthusiasm about your work; laugh, smile, sound positive about your goals and cheer others on regardless of how you really feel!

Winston Churchill said, ‘’success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.’’ You can lose an investment, a partner or a facility but do not ever lose your enthusiasm! The loss of enthusiasm cannot be compensated for by any amount of hard work. Don’t spend more time using blunt tools, whet your axes!

Feed your enthusiasm with the most positive vision of your future. Stay in touch with what you have already going for you. Paint a picture a blind man can see in colors, and do it most excitedly! Once you are bitten by the bug of enthusiasm, everyone else will catch on. It’s infectious!

Please share and invite your friends to read too! Let us know how you keep your enthusiasm.

Coffee Break Series (1.0)

Are you a team player? Do you value the input of others? Are your goals people-oriented? Can you handle a sincere second opinion?

Ask yourself, do you value a cause or a common goal above your own sense of worth? Can you get behind ‘our achievement’ rather than ‘my accomplishment’?

Can you stomach not being recognized for your contributions, however valuable they may be? Are you content with the satisfaction that everyone is happy? What is your strongest motivation on any project; is it self-acclaim? Or meeting the needs of others?

Being successful is very rewarding, but it gets really lonely being a lone-achiever for too long, its actually quite fulfilling working with people to achieve a common goal. There are sides to your project you cannot possibly see alone; probable pros and cons. Having a team not only ensures better efficiency, but also helps you cover your tracks.

Introducing TalkCulture #bringbackourvalues

Speaking your mind, how hard is it really? Well, when you think about it, it’s a vortex, especially when you realize how many times you’ve not said how you really felt for fear of sounding politically incorrect; or when you’ve looked the other way as someone else got victimized; you were right there, and you saw it all happen but it didn’t stop you in your tracks. I’m definite your memory is replete with times and occasions when you saw wrong and said nothing, as long as it didn’t touch you.

If it’s any consolation you are not alone in your misdoing; we’ve all grown quiet in some way; the whole world is living in denial – and it is our repressive way of coping with the harshness of the reality of the growing decadence; entire populations have been decimated as the world looked on, unruffled because we could still buy and sell! We are quiet about the increasing drug use, violence, unemployment, civil unrest and about every other thing wrong with our local communities.

We may not realize it but our silence is an insignia to something quite dangerous to our common existence; we are being ‘desensitized’ and it is the first step on our journey to being dehumanized! We don’t ‘feel’ like we used to and we definitely don’t ‘communicate’ like we used to. We’ve grown really selfish and silent, and we need a checkup!

You might ask, ‘how much difference can one man make, really?’ A world of difference I tell you; a single woman in the United States of America stirred such rave in the senate making it possible for the abortion bill to be passed into law and now over a  million abortions are performed every year; meaning over a million babies are killed every year from abortions alone! One man can make a difference!

There’s a lot going on in our neighborhoods, schools, local communities, and lives we can do something about by just speaking up. In a manner of speaking silence is consent!  Let your voice be heard, let it be on the record you said something.  We owe posterity that much. Let’s do this for a better life and for the sakes of our children.

I welcome you to TalkCulture with Wamdzu; a talk show making an incursion into the heartland of the seeming human conspiracy of silence; it is a TV experience that will definitely challenge your perception of the world around you and your response to its growing needs.

Enjoy and share if you like!
